I volunteer for a small CIC, building the confidence of insecure young people, and I lead a discussion group in my local U3A focussing on moral dilemmas.
WAS a most enthusiastic long-distance walker, but the old knees are taking their revenge for years of abuse! Have no interest in football or golf but do like to watch the 6 Nations rugby series in the Spring. Musical taste is wide and varied, including New Orleans jazz, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waites. I turn to putty when I hear the Intermezzo of Cavalleria Rusticana. LOVE to watch thoughtful, touching romances on TV. Not a beer enthusiast, more a G&T bloke. My ideal female friend is brave; well read; funny ha-ha; someone who "marches to the beat of a different drum"; someone I can admire and learn from; carries lightly the scars of a long life; loves independence yet appreciates the joys of being part of a loving family.
